Find Spreadsheet for upload here (directions for use below): Make a copy of this Google Doc to edit, download as .csv to upload (direct .csv download at the bottom of this page). First 3 columns are required, first 5 columns highly preferred.
How to use: Once you know which students will be using BookNook, it is time to add them to the site. There are two methods for adding students. In this article, we will be reviewing the the "Import Student List" tool. For directions on uploading student one at a time, please visit this FAQ page. In addition, there is a video at the bottom of this page that reviews using either the "Import Student List" tool and adding one student at a time.
Please note: your spreadsheet must be in .csv format. When saving, be sure to select .csv as the file type. you can download the recommended .csv spreadsheet at the bottom of these directions.
Step 1: In the app, click “Import Student List” in the top right corner
Step 2: Drag and drop the .csv file from your computer into the BookNook app or click "Or, Find Your file" to select from the location you have saved the .csv
Step 3: Click “Yes” to confirm you have selected the correct file
Step 4: Click “Ok, got it” on the screen to confirm the fields you will be uploading
Step 5: If any fields are incorrect, they will be indicated by a red exclamation point letting you know what fields must be corrected (screenshot below), but you can make adjustments to ensure data is uploaded for the required fields (see Step 6)
Step 6: To ensure fields are uploaded, click the drop down and select the correct field for all areas that the app has indicated are missing (screenshot below). Repeat for all fields that are shown as missing
Step 7: When all missing fields have been correctly adjusted, the warning at the top of the page will clear
Step 8: At the bottom of this page, click “Yes, looks good” which will have turned green
Step 9: Select the assessment type used at your site. We currently support conversion to F&P for Lexile, Step and STAR
Step 10: Confirm the data that will be uploaded and click “import students” to confirm
Step 11: You will receive confirmation of the number of students you have uploaded
Step 12: To confirm your students have been uploaded by visiting your main login page by clicking "View Students". If you would like to import more students, click, "Import More Students"
